The Technical Electrical Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all electrical engineering aspects of real estate development projects from concept design through detailed design and construction documentation. The role ensures that electrical systems are efficient, compliant with Saudi regulations and international standards, and aligned with the project’s cost, quality, sustainability, and operational objectives. The Technical Electrical Manager acts as the client representative, coordinating consultants, contractors, and internal departments to ensure the proper integration of electrical systems within the overall project design.
Key Accountabilities
The position involves:
- Lead the review and development of electrical design across all project stages (Concept, Schematic, Detailed Design, and Tender).
- Review and approve electrical design submissions from engineering consultants.
- Ensure electrical systems are optimized for efficiency, reliability, safety, and lifecycle cost.
- Ensure compliance with local Saudi codes and regulations, including SBC, SEC standards, Civil Defense requirements, and municipality regulations, and support obtaining necessary electrical approvals and permits.
- Evaluate electrical load calculations, power distribution systems, transformers, MV/LV systems, generators, UPS systems, lighting, and ELV systems.
- Ensure proper coordination between electrical systems and other disciplines (Mechanical, Structural, Architectural).
- Provide technical solutions to design conflicts and engineering challenges.
- Coordinate with internal departments, including development, architecture, cost management, and project management.
- Participate in design coordination meetings with consultants and stakeholders.
- Ensure electrical designs meet project budget and schedule requirements.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and value engineering in electrical systems.
- Evaluate alternative materials, equipment, and technologies.
- Ensure lifecycle cost optimization for building operations.
- Provide technical support during construction stages when required.
- Support the project delivery team in resolving technical issues related to electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with company design standards and engineering best practices.
- Conduct periodic technical audits of consultant deliverables.
- Ensure proper documentation and record management
of electrical designs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
We are Looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional certification (e.g., PMP, PE, CEng, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), LEED / Sustainability Certifications, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Minimum 10–12 years of professional electrical engineering experience.
- At least 5–7 years in a lead or managerial role on large scale real estate developments.
- Strong experience representing the client/developer side, PMC, or Design Consultants.
- Proven exposure to residential, commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use projects in Saudi Arabia or the GCC
- In-depth knowledge of power distribution systems (MV/LV), Lighting systems, backup power systems, building electrical infrastructure, ELV systems, and smart buildings.
- Understanding of energy efficiency and sustainability systems.
- Proficiency in engineering software, ETAP or equivalent electrical analysis tools, and design review tools.
- Expert knowledge of BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks, etc.) and CDE platforms.
- High level of communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
