We are looking for a passionate, self-driven, and experienced Sous Chef to join one of the leading Catering companies in Saudi Arabia. 

Job Context:
The Sous Chef is responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in managing the kitchen operations. This includes food preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, ensuring food quality and safety, managing kitchen staff, and contributing to menu development. The Sous Chef is a key player in maintaining the high standards of the kitchen and ensuring a positive dining experience for guests  

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist in recruiting, training, and developing kitchen staff. 
  • Ensure that health and safety training for all staff is relevant and up to date.
  • Regularly assess the competency of staff and identify areas for improvement.
  • Encourage and coach employees to engage with the safety program.
  • Highlight problems and ensure incidents and accidents are reported promptly.
  • Actively participate in the safety program, including toolbox talks, audits, and inspections.
  • Ensure existing work methods keep pace with the latest industry best practices. 
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of work methods and procedures.
  • Refer liaisons with the applicable statutory and organizational bodies to the General Manager via their line management.
  • Establish necessary procedures in full liaison with management, the Safety Officer, and the Hygiene Manager.
  • Review, audit, and inspect policies and procedures for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that deviations, incidents, and accidents are effectively reported.
  • Participate in investigations in a blameless manner to establish opportunities for improvement.
  • Be accountable for the safety and well-being of the workplace under their management.
  •  Ensure that the Company Safety Policy is applied to workplaces under their responsibility.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Proven experience 3-5 Years as a Sous Chef or in a similar role.
  • A culinary degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of culinary techniques and practices.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
