Join the dynamic technical team of a leading Saudi contractor focused on high-quality, large-scale residential projects in Saudi Arabia, operating from the company’s Egypt-based back office.
The Senior BIM Engineer – Dry / Wet Utilities will be responsible for leading and managing BIM coordination and modeling activities related to dry and wet utility systems from the company’s Egypt-based back office. The role will work closely with project teams, consultants, and site/technical teams in Saudi Arabia to ensure accurate, coordinated, and constructible BIM deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Accountabilities
The position involves:
- Lead and manage BIM activities for dry and wet utility systems across multiple large-scale projects.
- Develop, review, and coordinate BIM models, drawings, and technical deliverables in accordance with project requirements and BIM standards.
- Coordinate utility models with architectural, structural, MEP, infrastructure, and other multidisciplinary models to ensure fully integrated design delivery.
- Manage BIM coordination processes and identify and resolve clashes and technical conflicts between dry and wet utilities and other disciplines.
- Review and validate BIM models, shop drawings, layouts, and technical submissions for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate closely with consultants, design teams, technical departments, and Saudi-based project/site teams to ensure timely and accurate BIM deliverables.
- Monitor BIM progress and ensure all models, drawings, coordination outputs, and submissions are delivered according to agreed project schedules.
- Support design development, technical reviews, design changes, and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct and participate in BIM coordination meetings, technical workshops, and clash detection sessions with relevant stakeholders.
- Support value engineering and constructability reviews to optimize utility layouts and minimize site conflicts and rework.
- Ensure BIM models and related documentation are maintained, updated, and properly controlled in accordance with project BIM standards and procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to BIM engineers/modelers and ensure consistency and quality across project deliverables.
- Coordinate with Saudi-based site teams to incorporate site requirements, construction feedback, and as-built information into BIM deliverables.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between the Egypt back office and project teams in Saudi Arabia.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
We are Looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in BIM engineering, BIM coordination, or utility design/construction, preferably within large-scale construction projects.
- Strong experience in dry and/or wet utilities, including infrastructure and utility networks.
- Previous experience in residential, mixed-use, hospitality, infrastructure, or large-scale development projects is highly preferred.
- Strong background in BIM coordination, clash detection, model review, and multidisciplinary integration.
- Experience working within technical, BIM, design, or engineering departments in construction or engineering organizations.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, utility coordination, design standards, and relevant authority requirements.
- Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other relevant BIM/design tools.
- Experience with BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms is preferred.
- Strong understanding of BIM standards, workflows, model coordination, LOD requirements, and BIM deliverables.
- Strong leadership, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables in a fast-paced back-office environment.
- Ability to work effectively with Saudi-based project and site teams while operating from Egypt.
