As a Quantity Surveyor ,You will be responsible to manage all quantity surveying, cost estimation, billing, and contract administration activities for EHV Substations (400/220/132 kV), Overhead Transmission Line (OHL) works, and Underground Cable (UGC) projects up to 400 kV, ensuring cost compliance, commercial control, and accurate financial reporting.
Key Accountabilities
- Prepare and review BOQs, cost estimates, and quantity take-offs for substation, OHL, and cable projects.
- Manage monthly progress valuations, interim payment applications, and final accounts.
- Conduct site measurements, verify subcontractor works, and certify invoices.
- Review and evaluate variation orders (VOs), claims, and change requests with proper documentation.
- Maintain updated cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and commercial dashboards.
- Analyze project budgets versus actual expenditures and highlight deviations.
- Support tendering activities with accurate pricing, material take-offs, and supplier rate comparisons.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, pricing schedules, and project specifications.
- Coordinate with engineering, planning, and procurement teams to validate quantities and costs.
- Assist in preparing contractual correspondence and supporting EOT/claim submissions.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors on commercial matters.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, or relevant field.
- Minimum 3–5 years QS experience in: Substation projects (400/220/132 kV), OHL transmission works (up to 400 kV), Underground cable projects (up to 400 kV)
- Strong understanding of civil and electrical quantities related to transmission projects.
- Familiar with excavation, foundations, cable works, tower erection, and substation structures.
- Knowledge of tendering procedures, contract clauses, and cost control principles.
- Experience using: AutoCAD for measurements (preferred), MS Excel (advanced), ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) – advantage
- Experience with UAE/GCC utility clients (TRANSCO, DEWA, ADDC, SEC, KAHRAMAA) is highly preferable.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
