As a Quantity Surveyor Engineer you will be responsible for managing project costs, contracts, and financial planning to ensure efficiency and value across engineering and maintenance projects.
Key Accountabilities
The position involves:
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for construction and maintenance projects.
- Manage project finances, track variations, and control expenditures.
- Review contracts, assess tenders, and negotiate terms with subcontractors.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure cost-effective execution.
- Analyze project risks and develop mitigation strategies related to cost and scope.
- Liaise with engineering, procurement, and planning teams to align costs with project goals.
- Provide financial reports and forecasts to support decision-making.
- Validate work completed before authorizing payments.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and company standards.
- Support claims management and dispute resolution regarding costs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
We are Looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in quantity surveying.
- Proven experience in cost estimation, budgeting, and contract management within large-scale maintenance or engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of procurement procedures, material take-offs, and vendor/supplier coordination.
- Proficient in MS Office and quantity surveying software such as CostX, Candy, or Primavera
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.
