As a Project Planning Engineer ,You will be responsible to prepare, monitor, and control project schedules for EHV Substations (400/220/132 kV), Overhead Transmission Line (OHL) works, and Underground Cable (UGC) projects up to 400 kV, ensuring proper planning, forecasting, and reporting in line with project objectives.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6/MS Project for all phases—design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning.
- Prepare baseline schedules, resource histograms, S-curves, manpower plans, and cash flow projections.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to update progress and identify delays.
- Track and report project progress, critical paths, and variances against baseline schedules.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and schedule recovery plans.
- Analyze project risks, time impacts, and prepare EOT (Extension of Time) support documents when required.
- Review subcontractor schedules and ensure alignment with overall project plan.
- Attend project meetings and present schedule updates to management and clients.
- Support tendering teams with planning inputs, preliminary schedules, and resource estimates.
- Maintain planning documentation in compliance with client standards (e.g., TRANSCO, DEWA, ADDC, ADNOC).
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of planning experience in: Substation projects (400/220/132 kV), OHL transmission lines (up to 400 kV), Underground cable works (up to 400 kV)
- Experience using Primavera P6 (mandatory), MS Project, MS Excel & PowerPoint
- Strong understanding of EHV project construction sequences (OHL, UGC, Substations).
- Knowledge of engineering deliverables, procurement cycles, and site workflows.
- Familiar with planning norms, productivity rates, and EPC project methodologies.
- Previous UAE/GCC utility project experience is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Excellent coordination and communication abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
