The Production Planner is responsible for managing production scheduling and material planning across all factory departments. This role ensures optimal use of time, resources, and materials to deliver products On Time In Full (OTIF) while minimizing waste and maintaining full compliance with food safety and quality standards. The position plays a central role in factory-wide coordination, data-driven decision-making, spoilage prevention, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules aligned with order forecasts, inventory levels, and shift capacity.
- Prioritize production runs based on delivery deadlines, lead times, and operational constraints.
- Adjust plans dynamically to respond to urgent orders, equipment breakdowns, or workforce changes.
- Forecast raw material and packaging requirements using historical data and demand projections.
- Coordinate closely with procurement to ensure timely availability of compliant, high-quality materials.
- Optimize resource utilization to maximize productivity and reduce idle time.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages, overstocking, and spoilage of perishable materials.
- Enforce FIFO/FEFO principles and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Ensure OTIF fulfillment by aligning production output with logistics and dispatch schedules.
- Track waste metrics including scrap rates, yield variance, and spoilage losses, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Logistics, and Product Specialists.
- Resolve operational issues such as material shortages or capacity bottlenecks and develop contingency plans.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports covering production adherence, OTIF, waste, capacity utilization, and inventory KPIs.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and support regulatory and municipality (Baladiya) audits.
- Support continuous improvement and lean initiatives to enhance planning efficiency and reduce waste.
- Conduct cycle counts and full inventory audits, investigate variances, and enforce stock accuracy controls.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
We are Looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in production planning within F&B or manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of production scheduling, material planning, and inventory control principles.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems and data-driven reporting tools.
- Solid understanding of food safety, quality standards, and hygiene compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills across multiple departments.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to operational changes.
