The Senior Material Procurement Engineer is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement of construction materials for residential projects. The role ensures cost-effective sourcing, timely delivery, and compliance with project specifications, technical standards, and quality requirements. The position works closely with engineering, project management, and suppliers to ensure smooth execution of procurement activities.

Key Accountabilities
The position involves:
- Lead procurement activities for construction materials used in residential projects (civil, architectural, and finishing works)
- Review technical specifications, drawings, and BOQs to ensure correct material sourcing
- Source, evaluate, and prequalify suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors
- Prepare and manage RFQs, quotations comparison sheets, and procurement recommendations
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contract conditions with suppliers
- Ensure materials comply with project specifications, quality standards, and authority regulations
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and consultants for material approvals
- Monitor procurement schedules to ensure timely delivery aligned with project timelines
- Maintain cost control and support value engineering initiatives
- Track market trends, material availability, and price fluctuations
- Manage supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships
- Handle procurement documentation, contracts, and purchase orders
- Support risk management related to supply chain delays or shortages
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
We are Looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in procurement/material engineering within construction projects
- Strong experience in residential construction projects is highly preferred
- Solid understanding of construction materials (civil, structural, architectural, MEP basics)
- Experience with BOQ interpretation, technical drawings, and specifications
- Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills
- Familiarity with procurement systems and ERP tools
- Strong analytical and cost control mindset
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight project deadlines
- Knowledge of local and international material standards
