The Low Current Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all low current systems activities on site, ensuring installation, testing, and commissioning works are executed in compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, quality standards, and project requirements while supporting successful project delivery within schedule and budget.
Key Accountabilities
The position involves:
- Supervise and monitor all low current systems works on site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project standards.
- Coordinate installation activities for low current systems including CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, Public Address (PA), Structured Cabling, IPTV, SMATV, BMS, GRMS, and Data Networks.
- Review shop drawings, technical submittals, method statements, and material approvals related to low current systems.
- Ensure all materials delivered to site comply with approved specifications and project requirements.
- Coordinate with MEP, civil, architectural, and IT teams to ensure proper integration of low current systems.
- Monitor subcontractors and site teams to ensure works are executed as per schedule and quality standards.
- Support testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system integration activities for all low current systems.
- Identify technical issues, site clashes, delays, and coordination problems and provide corrective actions.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports related to low current works.
- Attend coordination meetings with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
- Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures, HSE standards, and company policies.
- Support project handover activities including inspections, snagging, documentation, and as-built drawings.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing results, RFIs, material approvals, and project documentation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
We are Looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in low current systems projects.
- Proven experience in residential, hospitality, commercial, mixed-use, or high-rise projects.
- Strong knowledge of low current systems including CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, PA, IPTV, SMATV, BMS, and Structured Cabling.
- Experience in testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system integration activities.
- Strong understanding of shop drawings, technical specifications, method statements, and coordination drawings.
- Experience coordinating with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with international standards and codes related to low current systems.
- Ability to manage multiple site activities and work under pressure.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and low current coordination tools.
- Strong communication, reporting, technical, and problem-solving skills.
