As a lineman - overhead transmission line, you will be responsible for carrying out all site activities related to Overhead Transmission Line (OHL) construction and maintenance—including tower erection, stringing, jointing, and safety compliance—for voltage levels from 11 kV up to 400 kV.
Key Accountabilities
- Perform tower erection, conductor stringing, sagging, and jumpering works under the supervision of site engineers.
- Carry out installation of insulators, hardware fittings, OPGW, and clamps as per drawings and instructions.
- Assist in foundation and excavation works for poles and towers when required.
- Follow all HSE and safety procedures during work at height, near live lines, and during equipment operation.
- Use and maintain climbing gear, hand tools, and lifting/tensioning equipment properly.
- Support line testing, inspection, and commissioning activities.
- Report any unsafe conditions, material shortages, or technical issues to supervisors.
- Ensure quality workmanship and timely completion of assigned tasks.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
We Are Looking For:
- Technical Diploma / Secondary School Certificate (mandatory).
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in OHL construction or maintenance (11 kV to 400 kV).
- Valid work-at-height/rescue/HSE training certificates are preferred.
- Previous experience in the UAE or Gulf region with utility or EPC contractors.
- Skilled in tower climbing, stringing, and line installation works.
- Familiar with safety rules for high-voltage OHL works.
- Knowledge of rigging, tensioning, and use of hydraulic tools.
- Physically fit and able to work at heights.
- Team player with discipline and strong safety awareness.
- Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
