The Import & Export Logistics Lead oversees the full logistics cycle, ensuring smooth, compliant, and cost-effective import and export operations. This role works closely with the Managing Director and Operations team, and is responsible for customs clearance, port coordination, shipping, invoicing, and vendor management. The Logistics Lead serves as the primary point of contact with freight forwarders, customs authorities, and logistics partners. .
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end import and export process, including customs clearance, port operations, and shipping activities.
- Prepare, review, and process all required shipping documents, invoices, and compliance paperwork.
- Act as the liaison with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and relevant authorities.
- Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery, proactively resolving issues or delays.
- Negotiate contracts and costs with service providers to optimize performance and reduce expenses.
- Ensure adherence to local and international trade regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records for all logistics operations.
- Provide reports and updates to the Managing Director and Operations team.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risks.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 7–8 years’ proven experience in import and export logistics.
- Strong knowledge of customs clearance, port procedures, shipping operations, and logistics documentation.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness, trustworthiness, and results-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics management tools.
- Fluency in English and Arabic (spoken and written).
