As an HSE Officer – Substation, you will be responsible for ensuring that appropriate OSH practices are developed, implemented, and monitored during the construction phase of a project.
Key Accountabilities
- Prepares and implements the HSE plan for the project.
- Prepares risk assessment for the method statements.
- Monitors the compliance of all site staff and workers with the safety standards and procedures.
- Responds and resolves all issues pertaining to NCRs, Notices of Improvement, site observations, and HSE discrepancies.
- Conducts site inspections and in-house trainings for workers.
- Prepares safety reports as per the company’s HSE procedures and the project’s contract requirements.
- Advises the project manager for legal and HSE training requirements.
We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in an HSE-related field from an accredited university (mandatory).
- Professional qualifications suitable for the job, with extensive knowledge of health, safety, and environmental tools and techniques.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project execution, similar to the nature of the required project (e.g., an overhead transmission line project requires experience in projects involving similar risk management).
- NEBOSH Certification (Level 3 or higher) - (mandatory).
- Previous experience in the UAE or GCC is highly desirable.
- Basic knowledge of the health, safety, and environmental aspects of the work to be supervised, associated hazards, control procedures, and emergency procedures.
- First aid and firefighting training.
- Ability to provide a comprehensive explanation of safety.
- Health, Safety, and Environment (HSSE) Officer Approval Certificates from Transco or any other company, if applicable
- Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
