As an Electrical Site Engineer – Substation, you will be responsible for supervising and supporting electrical construction activities related to MV/HV substation projects. The role involves site coordination, installation supervision, technical review, quality control, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and utility requirements.

Key Accountabilities
- Supervise electrical site activities related to MV/HV substation projects, ensuring work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Support the installation of substation equipment, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, CTs, VTs, control panels, protection panels, cable trays, and earthing systems.
- Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, shop drawings, method statements, inspection and test plans, and work procedures.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, construction, QA/QC, HSE, and subcontractor teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor cable laying, glanding, termination, testing, and cable routing activities in line with project standards.
- Ensure proper execution of earthing, grounding, lighting, and auxiliary electrical systems within the substation.
- Conduct site inspections and support QA/QC teams during material inspection, installation checks, and testing activities.
- Prepare daily progress reports, site updates, and required technical documentation for the Construction Manager or Project Manager.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, utility representatives, and subcontractors to resolve technical and site-related issues.
- Support testing and commissioning teams during inspection, pre-commissioning, functional testing, energization, and handover stages.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and utility requirements, including SEC, IEC, IEEE, BS, and applicable Saudi regulations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in electrical site engineering within MV/HV substation or power infrastructure construction projects.
- Hands-on experience in MV/HV substations, preferably including voltage levels such as 11 kV, 22 kV, 33 kV, 132 kV, or 220 kV.
- Good understanding of substation systems, electrical equipment installation, cable works, earthing systems, protection panels, and site execution procedures.
- Familiarity with transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, CTs, VTs, isolators, busbars, control and protection systems, and auxiliary systems.
- Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, layout drawings, cable schedules, termination drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Strong knowledge of HSE and quality requirements for electrical construction activities.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and basic engineering/design review tools.
- PMP, IOSH, NEBOSH, or any relevant safety certification is an added advantage.
