As a Cost Control Engineer , you are a key player in the financial planning and performance monitoring of major infrastructure projects. You will bring strong analytical capabilities and hands-on experience in project planning, cost control, and performance reporting.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage change order processes to accurately capture and control scope and cost modifications.
- Develop, implement, and maintain budget control and cost control templates to ensure consistent and accurate monitoring.
- Utilize Power BI to create dynamic dashboards and periodic cost control reports, enabling real-time project financial insights.
- Prepare detailed cost reports and presentations for management, highlighting financial status, variances, and overall project performance.
- Conduct regular cost control reviews, analyze variances, and proactively identify potential issues.
- Implement and refine methods and best practices for effective cost control to optimize project financial health.
- Monitor and control project costs against budgets, ensuring compliance and proactive management.
- Document and report on cost performance, highlighting significant complications and recommending corrective actions.
- Support project planning with financial insights and assist in forecasting, budget adjustments, and financial planning.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields)
- 10-15 years of experience in the same field.
- Proven experience in change order process management, budget control, and cost management for electrical substation or similar construction projects.
- Strong proficiency in Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
- Experience developing and managing cost control templates, periodic reports, and dashboards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with effective communication capabilities.
- Ability to swiftly identify and address project complications.
- Familiarity with project management software and financial systems.
- Relevant certifications such as PMP or Certified Cost Engineer are a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of industry best practices in electrical infrastructure project cost control.
