As a Contract Admin Engineer, you will be responsible for managing all contractual aspects of EHV/HV substation projects, including risk analysis, variation orders, claims management, and contract correspondence, while ensuring compliance with project requirements and mitigating potential risks.
Key Accountabilities
- Perform risk analysis and assessment of contract clauses to identify potential liabilities
- Evaluate and draft variation orders, coordinating with other departments to determine time and cost implications
- Draft claims and counterclaims, collaborating with relevant teams to calculate time and cost/price impact
- Administer contracts, including drafting and reviewing contractual letters and correspondence
- Coordinate contractual matters with the Program Manager, Project Managers, and other departments
- Attend meetings with the Employer and their Consultants to address contractual issues
- Coordinate project close-out documents with other departments to ensure smooth handover
- Analyze the impact and liability of contractual changes and recommend appropriate actions
- Advise on contractual matters, including rights and obligations under the contract
- Report the status of current contract processes to management, highlighting potential risks arising from project execution and proposing required actions or procedures
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Electrical or Civil Engineering degree
- From 5 to 7 years in Contract Administration, preferably within EHV/HV substation or large-scale construction projects
- Transferable (Iqama Transfer required)
- Strong understanding of contract law, FIDIC or similar contract forms is preferred
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Good coordination and communication skills
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required
