Aftersales Technical Engineer - Pumps Manufacturing / Oil and Gas - Saudi Arabia

The Aftersales Technical Engineer role involves: Supporting local Service Center, Field Service, PPR (Pumps, Parts and Repair) & warranty teams on issues encountered during Shop overhauling/repairs, Pumps Retrofitting, site installation, commissioning and operation associated with the product range. The role extends to site investigations, troubleshooting, failure analysis and hydraulic performance/vibration assessment during warranty claim investigation.
Key Accountabilities
- Serve as the main point of contact for technical inquiries from Sales, Project Management, Workshop, Field Service, and Warranty teams.
- Conduct on-site and off-shore customer visits and visits to the company's Service Centre to investigate and troubleshoot commissioning, warranty, and product improvement issues.
- Analyze data from Site Data Acquisition systems and strip inspection reports to support and lead Root Cause Analyses (RCA), including issuing associated reports.
- Develop and review/approve repair procedures.
- Gather market and competitor intelligence while on-site to enhance the company's products, such as identifying new features and pump upgrade opportunities.
- Perform site tests and generate technical reports for clients within own area of expertise.
- Generate design and detail proposals using 2D/3D drawing systems.
- Ensure that technical services offered comply with industry requirements and maintain equipment calibration and maintenance.
- Perform necessary risk assessments for technical site activities.
- Maintain relevant site working certifications (e.g., confined space, offshore).
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in assembling, operating, and/or testing pumps and related equipment.
- Good knowledge of pump product design
- Familiarity with pertinent industry standards, requirements, and the interactions of pumps/systems.
- Proficiency in materials relevant to product/industry domains.
- Certified to adhere to essential site working regulations (e.g., offshore, confined spaces, as needed)
- Field service background and experience in warranty and root cause analysis investigations.
- Proficiency in SAP software is preferred.
